Hello! Welcome to Carpet Cleaning Reno NV
I know the name of my site is kind of odd, but I really wanted you to find it, and since you are here, I have done my job.
You see, when a homeowner in Reno NV is looking for a carpet cleaning company, or maybe they need some help with grout cleaning, cleaning tile or need some information on cleaning machines, the first thing they usually do is log on to the internet and type in: Carpet Cleaning Reno NV or Reno NV Carpet Cleaning to find their local carpet cleaners.
This site was designed so that you could type in the information you were looking for, and easily find it.
The reason I wrote this website, is because I am an impartial customer, who has been in the same position and I needed to find a carpet cleaning service or even some water damage restoration in the past.
Unlike a lot of the other websites out there, I am not one of the carpet cleaning professionals looking for your business. I am simply a consumer who has dealt with some cleaning companies in the past with some good results, which was great, because it’s not a lot of fun dealing with a not-so-good local company, is it?
I figured that a lot of people have trouble finding reputable carpet cleaning experts in their area, and I kind of felt like it was my duty as a citizen and consumer to help you find a quality residential, local carpet cleaning company for your needs.
I will not bash any carpet cleaners out there, but I would like to recommend one or two companies in the area that provide the best carpet cleaning possible at a fair price. Also, something that is just as important to me as price is customer service. If you feel like I do, then you have come to the right place.
In addition to this, I wanted to provide you with some helpful information about carpet cleaning, whether you are looking to hire a carpet cleaning company or if maybe you just want to learn some simple at home carpet care tips. I hope to add some testimonials to my site soon, and some great tips on everything from tile grout cleaning to portable equipment.
When I was looking to hire some local carpet cleaning professionals I thought I just had to make a phone call, a cleaning service would come out and the pet stains that I had all over my carpet would magically go away. For the most part this is the case, but I had no idea that green carpet cleaning existed, and I certainly had no idea how many square feet of carpet I had to be cleaned in my house.
I had no idea that I could pay for upholstery cleaning either, and I know that I didn’t have a clue on how to measure my home for square feet. No big deal though. I have my carpet cleaned regularly now, and it turns out that I didn’t need to know any of that stuff anyway.
So whether you need some simple cleaning tips to keep your newly cleaned carpet looking great, or if you don’t know much about stain resistant carpet, or if you just need some simple spot removal, then you have found the right site.
Maybe you have water damage in your home from a busted pipe due to this freezing weather we’ve had here lately, or perhaps you need some upholstery cleaning done in your home. Regardless of what your specific needs are, I will try as best as I can to address as many of these carpet care issues that a typical homeowner may face, and how you can find the best carpet cleaning outfit for your specific needs.
My main goal here at Carpet Cleaning Reno NV is to educate you, the homeowner as well as to provide you with a few local carpet cleaners that are honest, respectable and dependable, offering great service in our areas.
Also, I must warn you of one thing. You cannot rely on the Better Business Bureau to vouch for how honest a company is.
Most people probably are not aware of this, but the Better Business Bureau is not regulated by any form of the government as their name would imply. In fact, the way they work is that they are paid by the businesses that they represent. I don’t know about you, but I can’t put much trust into any organization that represents a business for a fee to give me truly honest and truthful information.
It has even been investigated lately that the Better Business Bureau may give better ratings to a company for a fee, which definitely does not make me feel very warm and snuggly either.
Hopefully after you visit my site for a few minutes, you will be aware of the different ways a carpet cleaning company can help you and your needs, as well as inform you on everything from water damage restoration, to getting you familiar with the various carpet cleaning techniques used by the pro’s and those huge carpet cleaning machines they bring into your house.
So whether you have some spot removal issues, floor cleaning or portable equipment questions, I will try to answer them as best as I can here in upcoming posts.
I hope you find the information here at Carpet Cleaning Reno NV to be helpful. Carpet is not cheap these days, and if you have to remove it, replace it or have it cleaned with portable equipment, it gets even more expensive. And fast!

At Carpet Cleaning Reno NV, we want you to be able to “DIY” for most of your carpet cleaning needs.
When making an investment such as the carpet in your home, it is important to keep the carpet clean, which in-turn will keep it looking like new, and smelling fresh. Carpet manufacturers and carpet cleaning professionals recommend that you deep-clean your carpet regularly as part of your overall carpet maintenance program.
A carpet cleaning extractor is the device that you see professional carpet cleaners using, as well as the cleaning machines that you can buy at a supply store for home use. These extractors are designed to get down to the grime, soot and dirt that a traditional dry vacuum cannot reach on its own.
The Carpet and Rug Institute recommends that your carpet should be cleaned with some sort of carpet extractor on a routine basis, but the frequency of use depends on the size of your house, in relation to the square feet of carpet you have, and the traffic in the living areas of your house.
Below is an excellent guideline to follow to determine how often to call the local cleaning professionals, or when to haul out your personal carpet cleaning system.
- A small house with a small amount of foot traffic – Once every year or two
- A household with a moderate amount of traffic – At least once per year
- A household with high traffic, kids and/or pets – Every 6 months to 1 year
- A large household with tremendous traffic – Around 3 times per year
How it works
Cleaning machines inject the cleaning solution into the carpet, and the solution attaches to the dirt and grime in the carpet, and brings it to the surface. At this point, the carpet cleaning professionals use the powerful extractor to suck up the water, cleaning solution and the dirt from your carpet. This procedure is often called water extraction.
There are a few ways in which you can perform full carpet cleaning, or even simple spot removal on your carpet.
Dry Extraction Carpet Cleaning
This particular method requires the carpet cleaning experts to apply a compound with detergents and various solvents to your carpet. This compound is agitated into the fiber of the carpet, which allows the stain or dirt to become crystallized within the compound, and it then comes to the surface of the carpet where it can be vacuumed up.
Dry Foam Carpet Cleaning
This method is simply when a detergent is applied to the carpet, and agitated. This agitation produces foam that can be worked into the carpet fibers, trapping the dirt. At the end of the process, the foam and dirt are sucked up through water extraction.
Hot Water Extraction or Steam Cleaning
Steam Cleaning is the method that carpet manufacturers recommend for complete cleaning. This type of cleaning does not involve any actual steam, as the name would suggest, but instead uses a mixture of hot water and a carpet cleaning solution.
Existing conditions determine which areas of the carpet will be treated with a pre-conditioning cleaning solution, and if necessary the solution is applied. Once any pre-cleaning solution is applied to the carpet in the living areas, the cleaning experts will suck up the dirt particles, contaminants, excess water and any solution with the carpet cleaner.
To make sure you get the best possible results from the carpet cleaning company that you hire, it is best to follow some a few simple cleaning tips before they come out to your home.
- If at all possible, remove all furniture from the room(s) to be cleaned. If this is not possible, plastic film can be placed around the legs of chairs, tables and other furniture to protect both the furniture, and the carpet after cleaning.
- Vacuum your carpet as thorough as you can, paying extra attention to high-traffic areas of the carpet to minimize the dirt and grime in the carpet.
- If instructed to do so, use a stain remover for any spot removal needed in high-traffic areas in the home.
After the carpet cleaning experts have finished and left your home, allow the carpet to completely dry before walking on the carpet, or replacing any furniture. If you are able to allow the carpet to dry for at least 12 hours, this is beneficial because wet carpet can become dirty much faster than dry carpet, and if you have ever been lucky enough to smell wet carpet, you know it is not the best smell to the nose. Plenty of ventilation, and running a few fans can really speed this process along so you can get back to your life.
After your carpet has been visited by the carpet cleaning company, there are some simple cleaning tips and care tips to follow to keep that freshly cleaned carpet looking great. Regular vacuuming and spot cleaning will be necessary for stains that come up in between deep cleanings by a professional, and will keep the carpet much cleaner than it would be if you just waited for the cleaning professionals to show up every few months.
No matter what you do, or how hard you try, your carpet will become dirty again, and the carpet cleaning experts will have to be called once again to get rid of the nasty stains and dirt. But just by following some simple tips and caring for your carpet properly, the times when you do have your carpet cleaned will be much easier on you, and your carpet.

Carpet Cleaning Reno NV – Your Carpet Must Be Cleaned Properly For Luster
If you own a home, chances are you own some, or a lot of carpet…unless you have a whole lot of hard-wood flooring. You may be conscious about the environmental impact of chemicals, which may interest you in green carpet cleaning, or you may just be like I was, which is to say that I didn’t know grout cleaning from duct cleaning.
Also, I certainly didn’t know anything about upholstery cleaning, or whether or not I even had stain resistant carpet in my house or not. One thing that I do know though, is that carpet is really expensive, and caring for it is essential to keep your home looking good and more importantly, smelling good!
Effective Carpet Cleaning
arpet is a long-term investment that needs to be regularly maintained, rather than cleaned with powerful chemicals every once in a while. Ensuring that proper underlay is used before the carpet is laid, will help protect the carpet over the long run and regular cleaning with gentler chemicals will not only be better for the environment, it will be far more pleasant to use and keep carpets in optimum condition.
Some care to choose carpets that are suited to the area is another way to ensure that the carpet will be easy to maintain and care for over its lifetime. Once laid, the carpet will need to be regularly maintained and cared for, this includes daily vacuuming to stop a build up of dirt becoming lodged in the carpet fibers, regular cleaning that uses relatively harmless cleaners and spot removal of stains before they get locked into the carpet fibers.
General Carpet Cleaning
When you begin to clean your carpets with a cleaning product, you will need to consider the types of stains that you have in your carpets as well as the type of carpets you have and how the company that manufactured the carpets recommends you should clean them.
If the carpets are dirty from dust and dry, locked-in dirt, then a powdered stain remover will be ideal. Powder based stain removers only need to be sprinkled on the carpets, then brushed off.
Stains made by liquids, for example, soft drinks, coffee and wine need to be treated with a liquid based stain remover. Additionally, if the carpets are stained by moisture and build up of dust and dirt, a liquid based carpet cleaner is best. To remove water spills from carpet, a powder based cleaner can absorb the moisture, making it easy to remove.
Steam cleaning carpets is one of the most recommended ways of cleaning for most carpets, however, it is vital that you make sure that the process will not damage your type of carpet. The steam cleaning process involves the drawing the dirt to the surface of the carpet and removing it before it has a chance to stain.
Steam cleaning requires some specially formulated liquid cleaning products that are turned into steam by a steam cleaning machine or a steam vacuum cleaner. There are many non-toxic, steam-cleaning products available and the instructions for using both the chemical and the machine should be read first and followed exactly.
Ideally, the steam-cleaning vacuum should be fully self-contained, that is, it should be able to steam the dirt to the surface and then be able to vacuum the carpets right after. Steam cleaning is an ideal way to deep clean carpets and is also very cost effective. The better quality of the steam cleaner vacuum, the better the final result will be.
For those who are not sure how to clean their carpets correctly or have stains that are locked in and won’t come out with normal cleaning techniques, the best option is to call in a professional carpet cleaning company to remove the stains from the carpet. Professional carpet cleaning companies use a number of methods to clean carpets and will choose the best method for the type of carpet that is being cleaned.
Spot Removal
Spot removal is a technique used to instantly react to a spill or stain as soon as it occurs, before they have the chance to become permanent. Care must be taken not to use the wrong chemicals or techniques when spot cleaning, as this may cause more damage or spread the stains. Spot cleaning should be started with clean water and a blotting cloth. If that fails to remove the stain, stronger chemicals can be used for removal.
Carpet spot removal products can contain harmful chemicals. When using them, it is important to wear goggles and gloves. Ventilation is also needed when using chemical spot removal products. This can be achieved by opening doors and windows and avoiding use of the chemicals while others are close by.
After cleaning carpets, keep up regular maintenance on them to keep them looking in top condition. This includes vacuuming, making sure that you avoid stains by setting some rules, such as no food and drinks on the carpets and addressing stains or spills immediately with spot cleaning techniques.
